Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking

One of the famous trekking route in Nepal for both teahouse and organized. Ghorepani trek offers a wonderful opportunity to witness the beauty of the Annapurna region with a shorter trek. This place is rich of hidden treasure of Nepalese culture and tradition. During the trek the trail passes through world’s famous ‘the Gorkha warrior’ clan the Gurung and Magar’s charming village, dense rhododendron (Nepalese national flower), Oak forest full of birds, green hills and patchwork valleys. Just about every angle is a tantalizing glimpse of Mt. Fishtail (6,993m,) Annapurna (8,091m) and Dhaulagiri (8,167) range on the initial part of the tour is breathtaking. On an excursion to Poon Hill one can observe the entire mountain ranges; covering red and pink rays of the Sun in full bloom at the Sunset and Sunrise. Rewarding treks that can be enjoyed by every lover of nature in ghorepani poon hill trekking.

Itinerary

Poon Hill Trek

Day  01       

Pick up from Trivubhan International Airport then transfer to Hotel,

Day  02       

Drive from Kathmandu to pokhara by tourist bus Tourist bus Park, drive again to hotel

Day  03   

Drive to Naya Pul and  trek to Tikhedunga,1577m

Day  04       

Trek from Tikhedunga to Gorepani, 2837m

Day  05       

Trek from Gorepani to Tadapani(2610m) an early morning excursion to Poon Hill (3210m), about an hour climb. Provides an even better, unobstructed view of the High Himalaya

Day  06      

Trek from Tadapani to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara (1100m)

Day  07    

Drive from Hotel to  Pokhara bus park and drive by tourist bus to Kathmandu

Day  08   

Shopping and drop to airport.

Detail Itinerary

  • Day 01 KATHMANDU – POKHARA (910m/2986ft.) After Breakfast 6 hrs Drive to Pokhara about 200km by Tourist Bus through good scenery of River and countryside. Check in to the Hotel. Free afternoon on your own. Take a walk around Lakeside or you can do boating at fewa lake. O/n Hotel. (You can fly to Pokhara takes 25 minutes Flight)
  • Day 02. POKHARA – TIRKHE DHUNGA (1577m) After Breakfast an hour drive to Nayapul (50km). Then start your Trek about 20 minutes to Birethati, a prosperous town beside the Modi River. Again heading your Trek to hille, then trek to tirkhe dughga. This day you will Trek about 3-4hrs. O/n at Guest House.
  • Day 03 TIRKHE DHUNGA – GHOREPANI (2855m) After Breakfast start your Trek crosses a stream (Bhurungdi Khola) on a suspension bridge. Trek to a large Magar Village called Ulleri. Above the village where the trail climbs gently through pastures and cultivated fields, through rhododendron and oak forests then reach to Nangethanti. You can have lunch or short rest . Again Trek to Ghorepani through the forest. This day you will trek about 5-6 hrs. O/n at guest House.
  • Day 04 GHOREPANI – Poon Hill (3210m) – TADAPANI (2630m) Wake up early morning then at 4am an hour hike to Poonhill (3210m) with the help of your stick & flash light. Where you can enjoy with Panoramic Mountain Views & beautiful Sunrise View from your Eye lavel. Then after an hour Trek down to Ghorepani and have Breakfast then start your 6 hrs Trek to Tadapani. Tadapani means, ?Far water?. Water supply in this village from long distance.The trail climbs along ridges and through pine and rhododendron forests to Deurali. We descend to reach Banthanti, before winding our way to Tadapani. On/t hotel
  • Day 05 TADAPANI – GHANDRUK (1950m) Trek start to Ghandruk after the Breakfast. After 4hrs descent Trek to Big Gurung Village called Ghandruk. it is the most interesting tribal Gurung village in Nepal, which provides Gorkha soldiers. It has excellent close -up views of Annapurna South, Machhapurchhe and Himachuli. There is an ACAP office that provides information about its different activities. O/n at guest House.
  • Day 06 GHANDRUK – POKHARA (910m) Today is the last day of this Trek. After Breakfast Trek about 3-4hrs then take Bus back to Pokhara. O/n at Hotel.

We advise travel insurance to all travelers are interested of trekking in Nepal. Trekking in Nepal is walking in the trail (path) of mountains. In mountain areas health treatment facilities are not standard. There are less available of good hospitals and doctors. So if in case the trekker suffers from severe sickness, he should bring to Kathmandu by helicopter for better treatment. And the helicopter charter fare is expensive in Nepal. If you have already travel insurance, your money will be saved. When selecting a travel insurance policy we require that at a minimum covered for medical expenses, Ambulance and Helicopter emergency rescue charge if required. Please carry a copy of your insurance papers or Identify Card while travelling in Nepal and send us a copy as well. This will help us in making all the necessary arrangements in case any sort of Emergencies. We strongly recommend that the policy also covers personal liability, cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage and personal effects. We shall have no liability for loss, theft of or damage to baggage or personal effects. We also let you know that Nepalese Insurance Company does not have travel insurance policy for foreign nationals. So we advise you do your travel insurance with Insurance Company in your own place.
